I figured it would be best to wait until Diogenes had made his move and then strike at him when he was at his most vulnerable. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the job, but we’ve got him cornered. All we need to do is go in there and finish him off.”
“Easier said than done!” Corrine yells over the noise. The flapping of wings you note is getting closer. “What is that?!”
“Gargoyles.” Anemone says, nonchalantly. “Nothing we can’t handle, but they’re meant to buy Diogenes some time so that he may recover. Or worse, escape.” She turns towards you. “We need to act fast. Pick your strongest fighters and we’ll finish him off. The rest can stay here and cover our back from those creatures.”
>“Choose a few?’ You ask incredulously. “Can we really take him on with such small numbers?”“We’ll have to try. Hurry up and choose! The longer we take, the more power he’ll regain!”
From one of the tunnels nearby, you get your first look at the “Gargoyles” Anemone had mentioned. The creature appears to be some sort of hybrid of a human and bull, sporting wings and a wicked looking trident within it’s hand. It stares at you, before bellowing loudly and summoning more of its kind from within.
