Turns out, you were never really the best cook. You had to cook a lot to feed your family, yes, but most of your dishes boiled down to "SLOP IN A POT". You lucked out when you cooked something edible with the WINE-SOAKED SANDWICHES, it turns out.
You tried to innovate, you really did, but after burning or ruining some of the ingredients you used? You decided to return back to basics. You ended up making some slightly better WINE-SOAKED SANDWICHES, which now have some lettuce and onion you took from some of the salad mix bags.
At least they'll taste a bit better?
>You have 5 OBSCURA SYRAH samples left.
>You now have WINE SOAKED SANDWICH v1.1 x4! (A slightly better WINE-SOAKED SANDWICH. Heals a moderate amount of physical health. May still have side effects. +???, will be revealed after using one.)
While you were busy doing that, your two coworkers were working on setting up some flowerpots. You've had these supplies for a while, but you sorta forgot you had them. Given IN LIMBO's...instability, for a lack of a better term, you figured it'll be a good idea to figure out how to grow them.
You turn off the grill before joining your coworkers in the great art of gardening.
The two are chatting about nothing in particular, mostly about people you haven't met before. You kneel before one of the filled-up flowerpots. You calmly plant a WIRE FLOWER into the soil. You've done some gardening in the past, and, unlike cooking, you were actually pretty solid at it.
Granted, not with WIRE FLOWERS, but still. Maybe that's part of the reason IN LIMBO gave you its gift? You idly tend to the flowers with Lucy and Anthony's help. No one really feels like talking during all of this, and can you blame them?
A dull, throbbing pain pounds at the back of your skull. Lucy did a good job patching you up, but you must've dug into your skin pretty hard.
>2 SUCCESSES!
"So, have either of you done this before?" You're the first to break the silence.
"I-I used to g-grow fl-flowers, you know! W-well, a cactus, but cacti have flowers too!" Lucy chirps out. "I-I couldn't have a p-pet in my apartment, so, you know."
Anthony cracks a faint smile. "Yeah. My wife used to take care of some roses, way back when. Had this huge rosebush back at our house."
"She'd spend most of the day out there, tending to them, lovin' on them. Now I tend to them. No one else can, you know?"
Who would've thunk that all three of you would've taken care of plants before? The wire flowers are a bit different from the average cactus or rose, yes, but they're still somewhat plants. Some of that experience does transfer over, at least.
It takes some trial and error, but Lucy and Anthony managed to find a way to get the flowers to accept their new environment. Lucy buries some batteries into the soil to fuel them, and that seems to work somewhat, but your gut tells you that something is missing.
You asked Anthony if he had any ideas and he actually had a pretty simple one.
