Next up on your list of errands is to stop by Doc's place. You want to fill him in on the mission and thank him for giving you his new .apps. You've prepared some info on them and separated out their usage logs, to pay him back for the test run. When you reach the district, however, you see plenty of bots moving around. A couple of punks are being interrogated by them, and they begrudgingly pause to converse.
<span class="mu-s">"Damn!"</span>
"What are they doing...? They don't usually come here."
<span class="mu-s">"It must have been that battle from the other day. Three Digimon signals, plus however many more these chumps have been generating while running around."</span>
This district, once meant for delinquents to faff about without falling foul of the law, is experiencing an unprecedented crackdown.Messing with Digimon crosses too many lines for them to let go. Even though you weren't the one who started it, you certainly contributed by sending Phascomon in.
"Stay put in there." You say, glancing at your Digivice.
You see several bots stationed across the rooftops, so you're forced to walk on the ground level. You consider just doing this another day, but decide to observe. In the meantime, you send Doc a message. The last time there was a security incident around his workshop, he got kidnapped by DarkTyrannomon, and you worry this might be a repeat.
Fortunately, he gets back to you fast. He confirms that the fight was what attracted them, and that they're searching the inventories of folks on the ground. You observe their patrol routes as you text him, slowly charting out a path to his home.
>Try the rooftops while in disguise. You have to dodge a lot more bots, and if you get caught, you'll need to run fast. There's no risk of an unmasked interaction with them, but if they discover a runner, they're going to crack down harder on these people.
>Walk on the street and try to avoid bots. Doc said they were searching people, not scanning metadata. You have a smuggling partition, so you should be completely fine. But if he's wrong, or they ask for it on a whim, you're in huge trouble.
>Ask Doc to help you in some way. Maybe with a distraction or diversion using his handful of Digimon partners. If he says yes, it might be a risk to him since he's the one living here, but you can probably get off with the lowest level of risk.
