So it is a human planet with technology approximately our current level, except they do know and are familiar with interstellar spacefaring visitors, but cannot venture very far into the stars themselves. The planet looks as if someone had implemented terraforming halfway, and then decided to give up before completing it - so there is atmosphere but the soil quality is very poor. The human outpost population here perhaps is not very big, I had a think about the architecture. The standard sci fi thing is IT IS MADE OF SPACE CRATES, CRATE CITY to show space colony etc. I think there probably is that, but also their buildings are quite squat and rugged looking, with the appearance of a mountaineering retreat or a series of rhombic and low-lying polygonal block slab type structures. When your starship makes planetfall and lands (maybe it just hangs there, levitating in mid-air) it is a big event, everyone gathers to gawk at it, children hide behind their mothers and are frightened, the men look upon your MASSIVE STARSHIP with unease as they cannot really do anything about it. Your starship is quite possibly the size of a mountain if not slightly bigger. In fact... if this were an invasion fleet...
