"She seemed pretty nerdy, so she's probably a follower of Artemia..." Herta mumbled.
"I believe we can find an understanding with the nonplussed mer-woman." Ruby continued on. "As for that aggressive companion of the other two, I doubt a fool like her has any use."
"That angry mermaid definitely has a thing for human men." Mel commented.
"Master," Herta turned to you, a grateful smile on her face. "Thank you for keeping me in my place while grappling me with your legs as you shove your huge, throbbing thing down my throa-"
"Oi, you three sound like you would've done good by meeting the mermaids face to face." Cattleya put forward the thought with a meow.
"Eh," Mel was ambivalent. "Maybe? I would've probably noticed something else if I was there. But at the same time making sure I could shoot their heads off at any given moment is super useful."
"I'd always be happy to spend more time with Master, and let him use me as he likes~!" Herta beamed, saying words which all of your wives agreed with.
"Well said, goddess. However, I don't care much for seeing mere pawns, as those mermaids have proven to be, in person." Ruby rejected the idea of making any effort or getting her hands dirty. "I thrive when acting in the shadows— pulling strings and weaving webs from this underground citadel, all to compliment my gallant Master's schemes~" Ruby Rose nearly sang. "Yet if Master sees it in his designs to place me front and center, I shan't complain~"
After the words 'place me front and center', Ayane chuckled as she faced you. "Unlike Ruby, had I been awake and of sober mind, I would've requested you bring me along, love." Ayane found it amusing for some reason. "However, it might've been for the best, considering these mermaids seemed not to care much for talking things through. A shame, too, for I've heard jewels, pearls, rare minerals, and artifacts are common amongst Merfolk."
"I'm sure they wouldn't be able to outmaneuver your words, darling." You said.
"I know they wouldn't." Said Ayane with confidence.
"Those three are still here if you still wanna talk to them, last I saw." Said Mel.
"Any mutually beneficial trade agreements we could've had with those three is likely out the window by now. But that might be for the better, considering how they acted in front of Master, I don't feel too compelled to extend any offers." Your vixen summarized her view of the matter.
"What are they up to?" You asked your beguiler.
Ruby responded in Mel's place. "They attempted to knock on the door and call out for you. Without a response, the loud one was stupid enough to try breaking it open with her trident." Your Mastermind giggled. "From the sounds of their reactions, the weapon broke instead."
