Either he was refusing to talk to you, or he was busy with something else. Although, you can’t imagine a supposed “godlike being” not being capable of multitasking.
Eventually, you accepted that you weren’t going to get any concrete answers, and went on to practicing your sign language with Cindy. Marc left you two alone for a while to deal with something that popped up. And by the time he’d come back, the sky had noticeably darkened, and you had another guest in the room.
You heard a crunch, before whirling around to face the fiend, arms raised! Cindy was likewise reaching for her moonrang…only to drop her defensive stance when she saw the young woman standing before her.
She was just a bit shorter than your sister, with pale skin and short, black hair that smoothly transitioned into a light turquoise the further down it ran. She wore black lipstick, dark eyeshadow, and thick mascara that accentuated her piercing gaze. Her short little black dress did very little to hide her slight curves, and you noticed that her hands and neck were adorned with all sorts of trinkets and accessories when she…dug her hand into the bag of chips?
Yes. She was eating chips, and getting crumbs all over Moon Knight’s carpet. Much to his chagrin.
“Hey, all. Sorry if I’m a little early. I was in the wrong time zone and my clock was running a little fast.” she said through a mouthful of food.
Marc sighed. “Everyone, this is Nico Minoru. Or as she likes to be called, ‘Sister Grimm’. She’s a self-taught, unallied magician with a knack for the mystic arts.”
She smiled slightly, waved her hands, and the empty bag of chips disappeared without any grandiose effects. “I’ve got to snack, constantly. Casting magic does a number on your metabolism, so you’d be hard pressed to find any overweight dedicated mages.” she explained, apparently answering the unspoken question that was shared between you and Cindy.
Her eyes focused on the girl in question and her smile widened a bit. “This the one?” she asked Marc. He nodded.
“Alright, then. Let’s have a look at you…”
Nico gripped both sides of Cindy’s face and began tilting it back and forth in a way that was almost identical to what your sister had done. Cindy’s annoyance was palpable, but she kept her cool while the magic expert did her thing.
“Mask down.” she demanded.
Cindy tugged her mask down, revealing the lower half of her face.
“Mouth open…” Nico added.
Cindy sighed, but she complied without argument. Nico seemed to squint as she leaned closer to inspect your ward’s hygiene. Grimacing, you gently closed her mouth and replaced her mask before backing away.
“Weird. You’ve definitely been touched by something old. Just gotta figure out what.” Grimm said. She ran a finger along one of her silver rings, and you heard a click as a small blade popped out of it!
