Seeing as how the girls weren’t occupied by anything other than the pizza you ordered, you brought out the map that Callisto gave you and offered it to them.
“What’s this?” Araña asked.
“A map of the city’s sewer system. If you’re going to be working with the Morlocks, then you’re going to need to know how to get around.”
The red-headed girl frowned at that.
“Ah…so you really weren’t kidding about that, huh?” Araña said with a sigh. “Alright, hand it over. Benga. Can I get a napkin, por favor?”
After wiping off their hands, the two girls examined the map together. You pointed out a few of the significant ‘landmarks’ that Callisto marked down, as well as the general location of the Alley.
Several minutes later, they’d manage to map out what they thought was an optimal delivery route.
“Okay, so if your sewer lady can meet us here, we won’t have to go too far into the sewers. So long as she doesn’t mind walking for a bit, I don’t think we’ll have any problems.” Araña declared.
Benga nodded in agreement.
“Sweet. I’ll let them know that we’re good to start delivering their product. For now, I’d like you girls to meet your potential new roommate.” you said, calling Ember over.
Araña and Benga didn’t seem very surprised by this development. They must’ve figured out what you were up to on the ride over.
Oh well.
“Hey, Ember. You’ve already met these two lovely ladies, but I bet you didn’t know that they were going to be your new roommates.”
Ember gave you a sufficiently confounded frown, before turning it on the other two. They said nothing, their faces equally impassive. Which was impressive, given that Benga was right next to her.
“Oh, I didn’t expect them to be so…” Ember said, before trailing off.
“Young?” you suggested.
The white-haired girl nodded, her many piercings shifting slightly as she did so.
“Uh…yeah. How old are you two?” she asked them.
“Don’t worry about it.” Araña answered smoothly.
Ember glanced at you out of the corner of her eye, and you shook your head.
“Alright, then. It’s, uh, nice to meet you guys.”
“Yup.” Benga replied.
There was a period of uncomfortable silence after that, and you were tempted to jump in and intervene for a moment there. Fortunately, Ember made more than a token effort to get to know her prospective roomies.
“So…what do you guys do for fun? Do you play any games? I’m playing a few right now.”
She went on to list an assortment of modern and retro games that she’d played recently, or just liked in general. To your surprise, Benga was the one to perk up at the mention of a particularly popular RPG.
“You play Lost Era too?” she asked.
“Do I play it?” Ember said, sounding incredulous. “It’s only the best Fantasy RPG series known to man. Who’s your favorite character?”
