You tell Lily that you forgive her, but also tell her that the person she should really apologize to is Alice. Lily sighs.
“Yeah, Alice, I’m sorry. Really, I am.”
Alice gives Lily a dirty look, but says nothing. It does not seem that Alice forgives Lily at all, but it appears she’s at least willing to tolerate her presence. You try to initiate a group hug, but Alice pulls away, so you simply hug Alice and then hug Lily afterwards.
You look at Lily, then ask her if she wants to go to Alienfest now.
“Hell yeah, I do.”
You look over at Alice, she looks down at the floor.
“I’ll stay here. Just… don’t get yourself killed, please, Fido.”
You tell her that you won’t. You promise her.
A bit after that, you and Lily leave for Alienfest. You reconvene with Ralph at the front, who appeared to be waiting very patiently for you. You give some excuse about leaving something on the stove, and though it appears he probably doesn’t buy it (whenever he doesn’t believe something he pretends he does in a manner that is overly-enthusiastic for even him), it seems he isn’t going to pry. Ralph tells you that Eric is already inside. The place is relatively packed, and you can already smell the beer, cigarettes, pot, and whatever other substances the people here may or may not be partaking in. You begin to wonder if this is really the best place to be bringing Ralph. Light clouds of smoke pretty consistently fill the air and makes the inside slightly less breathable, but that’s to be expected at these kinds of places. Being around all these people make you begin to think. These people will all be dead soon. Everything they know, everything they love, gone. For many of them, Alienfest will the last night they truly get to enjoy themselves, before returning to their monotonous lives that will, in a very short time, be snuffed out. You simultaneously feel less alone, and more alone than ever before.
