Maybe I have become suffused with avant garde hauteur from watching too much arthouse cinema lol, but it can be jarring sometimes when you alternate between the stillness and perfectionist composition of those cinematic works to the CGI clutter oversaturation of mainstream blockbuster Hollywood. I think it might be the technological sublime thing again, but there is only so much unreality that an audience / spectator can absorb before it recedes into a background of overwhelming banality.

>>5853867 there is a lot going on in that Canto Bight sequence but the visual cinematography and editing, jump cuts and composition is really haphazard and cumbersome. For all the CGI tech the film sequence looks really ugly, it just feels as if someone tried to cram in an ahistorical caricature of ALL THE VISUALS lol.
