<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Time's up. Sorry, we have to go. Stay alert over the next few days, okay? The info that you've obtained includes the mission's start time. You should get inside early, so you're hidden by the time we march in. And if you want to get started before that, it'll help out too. You just won't have backup firepower."</span></span>
With that, your ally of convenience is forced to leave. He and his cronies move with urgency, packing up their things and lining up for shuttling. The Commandramon rappel off the rooftops in small squads and reform their patrol routes, while the Pteramon shows up again to pick up Hi-Commandramon. You're left without much info on the partition, nor on the City's forces, but you have some idea about the types of enemies you'll be facing.
You're soon left all alone on the rooftop with Phascomon.
<span class="mu-s">"You don't think we can handle him?"</span>
"I hope we can. But you gotta admit, he-"
<span class="mu-s">"I don't gotta admit squat. I'll delete him. Capisce? Just you watch."</span>
You slowly nod.
"I hope so."
<span class="mu-s">"We've still got a leg up,"</span> your partner continues. <span class="mu-s">"We won twice, he won once, and we had to flee. Let's not give him the chance to even out the score. I ain't doing a best-three-of-five with that big brute. He's done for."</span>
"Okay. You're strong as Astamon, he can't just throw you around anymore. We'll finish him off. Like we should have back then. If I had let you kill him the first time, do you think..."
He was the one who caused a disaster in the radar partition, and you didn't deal with him then either. If he had been destroyed as a BlackAgumon, Liza, Lenny, and that guy with the Otamamon wouldn't be in their current states.
<span class="mu-s">"Hey."</span>
Phascomon snaps his fingers once you trail off.
<span class="mu-s">"Lemme let you in on a secret, Marnie."</span>
"Hm?"
<span class="mu-s">"If you'd let me rip his ugly mug apart, like I wanted to... I don't think I'd have opened up so much, so fast. Okay? The fact that you stopped to think about his life is, uh... very you. We've made a whole bunch of different choices since. But end of the day, the Marnie that's my partner is the one who pauses and lets her heart decide on these things. So no griping over what's already happened! We left him alive, I agreed to it, I'm as much to 'blame' as you."</span>
He makes air quotes with his claws, then forms two digits into a little circle.
<span class="mu-s">"Which is exactly zero! Zilch! Not our problem. Capisce?"</span>
He's a lot softer with the second usage of his catchphrase in the last few minutes. You find yourself smiling. Despite being moody lately, he's still finding it in himself to give you that pep talk. You completely push aside any thoughts about your previous calls. What lies ahead of you is another difficult task, and you have to put everything into it. Once that's done, it'll be time to climb. This will be one of the last few things you'll be doing here.
"Capisce. Come on, let's go home."
