>>5676915You reach Volgo Z early in the morning, a bit earlier than you expected in fact. You're not even inside the town, but you can already hear people screaming at each other and hundreds of carriage wheels turning inside the city walls. Better to not go inside, it'll probably give you a headache, you have no idea how someone could enjoy a loud, busy city life like this. You decide instead to spend the day hunting monsters around the Helman plains, getting enough cash for a ride all the way to Maunes, on the other side of the mountains. You've never been outside Helman, so you are a little bit nervous about what it could be like, you hope it's a bit quieter than Volgo Z at least.
As the sun begins to set, you and Hannypold deliver a simultaneous attack on a Squidman, stabbing him from both sides. You count your money and, sure enough, you can finally afford a ride. You quickly run to the nearest available cow carriage, silently point to a map and look at the couchman with pleading eyes, hoping he can lend you a ride. You must've looked desperate, because the man seemed to assume that you were a refugee trying to escape Helman, he gives you a discount for that, so you decide not to argue against it. (+50 G)
The carriage is surprisingly comfortable for one that seemingly is used to transporting illegal refugees around, though the smell is about what you expect. You decide to leave Chaos unsheathed for a while, it seems like he feels kind of cramped inside the sheathe, under the condition that he won't talk while you try to sleep. In fact, you've noticed that Chaos has been speaking way less lately, maybe he's finally getting used to your way of being-
>"Wow kindred spirit, can't believe we're finally starting the adventure! I love stabbing monsters and all that, but stabbing the Demon King is gonna be AWESOME. And with a name like "Little Princess", I mean I don't wanna hype myself up or anything, but what if she's a total hottie?! Oh yeah man, I'm all fired up now!!"…or maybe you've just been mentally blocking his speeches more than usual lately. You want to shut him up, but you feel too tired to do so, so you simply close your eyes and try to fall asleep.
