Onwards to the mines, and this time for real. You can’t wait to see the green wolf again, as well as get some much-needed answers from Hawkodesh about your vision, Anu’s plans with gnollkind and… well, everything. Oh, and hopefully hunt a fat rat or something in those tunnels, too. You are so damn hungry you could eat your own arm!
>Your hunger has increased: -2 to all rolls. This penalty will become worse at 17:00
The place you're heading to happens to be close to your room, so you take the opportunity to pass by and get the shiny symbol of Anu you saw there hours ago. This thing looks similar to the one Murdock used in his attempt to exorcize Kholgarsh. The demon was frightened by the sight of it, so it should prove very helpful when fighting those creatures. You put it in your backpack, leave your chambers and carry on.
Soon, you arrive with Datz to the tunnels’ entrance. Recalling the smith's instructions to lit your torches, you retrieve the oil-filled flask from your bags... however, just as you are about to use it, a familiar voice coming from behind startles you. “W-wait!” You turn around and find Gondar standing right in front of you. He came all the way here running, judging by how tired and demolished he looks. Panting with his hands on his knees, it takes him a while to catch his breath. “Oooof… oof… f-fuck, I’m glad I c-caught up in time... listen, t-there’s something I f-forgot to tell you...”
You and Datz exchange looks. “Uh… what is it?”
"Oof, oof..." The smith wipes the sweat off his brows, still gasping for air after his little marathon. “T-the demon… oof... t-the demon is a master of ma-manipulation, gnolls. A-always... a-always bear in m-mind that its i-innocent appearance i-is a facade, a cl-clever disguise t-to f-fool those u-unaware o-of its evil nature..." He sounds oddly nervous as he speaks. "Listen, y-you have to k-kill it as soon as y-you find it. D-don't listen to a SINGLE w-word it says, b-because that would allow it to s-slowly crawl into y-your mind, g-gaining control o-over you… a-and when you f-finally realize, i-it’ll be too late to f-fight back. N-no such thing as b-being too careful, so… s-so may Anu bless y-your d-demon hunt. G-good luck.”
Gondar walks away and returns to his forge at a slower pace, appearing much calmer than before.
