“Sounds like a lot of work. I take it this means you have no idea how long it'll take to crack then?” you ask, Arctus nodding to you.
“Bingo. Once I've begun getting into this data and have anything to report, I'll let you know.” he tells you, turning his attention back to the machine. Fingers once more flying over the keys in bursts several seconds long, then watching for a second or two before typing more. “Anything else you want to talk about?”
“Yeah, any more sightings of that bastard Darkseid?” you ask, Arctus freezing mid-type. He raises his left, tapping his scouter a couple times.
“No, he's not come back since that last one.” he replies with a sigh of relief. “Maybe we scared him off?”
“Or maybe he's strengthening his forces before returning.” you say, silence hanging between you for several seconds. “But no matter what, if he decides to show his face, we'll kick his ass back to his own realm.”
“That's the spirit.” he replies, turning a bit and giving you a nod. You return the gesture before raising your hand back to your forehead, ready to leave him to his struggle ahead.
