>>5462983Mom teleports in a bit later, with everyone done with their dishes, and all set to go. Dad waves at mom as she arrives, and she waves back, but his focus locks on to the finished dishes as they come before the judges one by one. And… they ALL look rather good. Surprisingly so, even!
“Judges! Bon appetit!~” Cocoa declares.
“And all contestants, you may partake of your own dishes if you wish!” you add in.
Dad and Buu immediately start devouring every dish set before them. Hercule almost keeps pace with them at the start, but he recognizes early on the need to take things slower. Baba and Pilaf meanwhile sample each dish enough to get a proper read on the tastes and if they like it or not, with a few dishes surprising even them, though they do show themselves to be the harsher critics of the group.
Lime and Monty’s cinnamon roll pancakes impress all but Baba, and so they end up with 4 points.
Videl and Sharpner’s okonomiyaki though impress thoroughly, with just the right balance of savory, crunchy, and downright yummy. Full five, with the bonus!
Latte and Java’s selection of crepes also thoroughly impress, with the selection of savory and sweet catching everyone’s attention, Pilaf even commenting that he might need to add that to the Mifan royal menu. Full five and a bonus for them too, the two hugging joyfully, before then helping themselves to some of their own creations.
Izzy and Tapion’s savory waffles are a huge hit, with dad and Buu even asking if Pilaf and Baba are willing to share their leftovers… to which both of them refuse to and gobble ‘em down quickly. Full five again, and bonus again!
Sachie and Atole’s choice of dish does impress dad, Buu, and Hercule, though Baba ends up finding they used too much bean paste and it ended up spilling out too easily, Pilaf agreeing with that assessment. Three points.
Sala and Zarid’s dishes though lift spirits up again, and in spite of Sala’s attempt at offering the… yeast extract… as a condiment, they all agree that the little honey glaze is the perfect topping for it, and the choice in tea pairs excellently. Full five, and bonus! …Sala still adds some to her own, much to Zarid’s dismay.
Angela and Penn’s souffle-style pancakes hit almost perfectly… though Baba finds them a bit on the plain side, even with the maple syrup to go with ‘em. Four points.
Hakka’s fried pigs in a blanket and Cheelai’s fresh orange juice, which you learn has a hint of lime squeezed in, are almost out of this world. Dad even gives mom a look like she should try that some time, which you do notice Maple actually considering. Still, full five, and bonus!
