When they arrived at the top Lucian felt his knees shaking. The weird magic that the Dwarfs employed causing his mortal body to be shaken by the sudden shock of it all. His mind though had to accept what had happened and that such thing would surely not mean his death for Morr would not allow it to be.
When the Dwarfs began moving Lucian joined them. The moment he stepped off the floor which flew the entire thing went flying down like some sort of demented beast of burden. Lucian would have paid more attention to that but the sudden ringing of thunder caught his attention in an instant.
Lined across the walls were large black barrelled weapons. Some of them having several barrels tied together while others were lonesome. All of them had the might of Mann placed inside of them as they rang with the same kind of fury he gives to those on both sea and land. He noticed then flashes of light in addition to the torchlights dancing across the way, the Knight realizing that the Dwarfs were sending their might to those down below.
The walls were built to be enclosed, Lucian having to duck slightly as the wall came roughly down to his neck. There were several portals pointing towards the outside, many of them being used to house the odd weapons the Dwarfs used or for their users to look onto the crowd below.
A sudden thought came upon the Knight, and slowly he made his way to one of the holes that looked out into the darkness. He did not find complete darkness though, but a subtle green glow that was filtered over an army below.
There were thousands of them. Thousands of Skeletons rushing towards the gate with weapons stabbing into the stone walls. From all around him Lucian heard the cry of thunder, and saw both bursts of light followed by the shattering of several dozen Skeletons. Many others, he realized, had been pierced by arrows from giant ballista, those silent compared to the concussive might of what Lucian began to realize might have been Cannons.
At least, thats what he remembered bearing at one point. It might have been among one of the merchants trying to sell Count Remon something, but the Knight could not say. All he could say was such weapons were sort of terrifying if he did not know Morr was protecting him.
“A manling holding up in here, I find something new every step I take.” Lucian turned around to see a Dwarf with a beard as stark white as snow and whose length was somehow both immense and modest. His armor was nothing too outrageous to look upon yet Lucian noticed that his eyes were sharp.
As if the courtesy was automatic the Knight spoke, “I am Lucian the Durand, sir Dwarf.”
“Visa,” Answered the white haired dwarf with a smile on his face.
