A simple armor, even if one would hardly call it that. It protects well from the weather and cold, and is thick enough that it will not be easily cut. It was cheap to buy, easy to maintain and light for travel and combat. With Vlad being near forests during his training of three years, he had sources of both leather and fur from the animals he hunted. Fighting some of the flesh creatures and predator forests would have inevitably ruined it.
(this armor is what i imagined Vlad having during the three years passed with Merlina. From what he purchased in that village after the escape, plus furs and leathers put on it from the animals he hunted.)
