This is a peculiar case that's come onto the radar lately and I felt it was worth it to discuss our possible involvement. As most of you might be aware, there is an area of Siegesia currently experiencing unrest. Muscec. If you've been following the national news, you know that there's talk of revolution and dissent bordering on the beginnings of insurgency and rebellion in the area."
[HALE] "A little recap. Muscec is a historical land near the Warrens, the original Siegesian heartland. It was one of the first early states to form on the continent, and once enjoyed a long reigning monarchy of multiple houses until the Kingdom was conquered and annexed into Woldoria's reich. Obviously, the Muscecians, a very nationalistic people, hadn't been taking that kindly for the past few millennia. Now enter the Final War. The Final War has aroused those nationalistic tendencies to the point that Muscecians feel bold enough to attempt a breakaway. In fact they even wish to crown Pieropalquis the fourteenth, the current head of the House of Lyvern, the, errr, rightful holders of the Muscecian crown."
[HALE] "There's a lot of baggage to unpack here. Clearly, this is a situation ripe for Khanate fingers to slime into, or even Imperial ones. Anything to damage Woldoria's stability would be beneficial for either. Though, I likely suspect this is more attractive to the Khanate as of present. There's a chance that martial law will cause a full breakdown in all peace talks and ignite armed revolt in the region. Muscecians have been arming themselves for centuries in preparation of this moment."
[KURT] "What of the monarch? What is Pieropalquis' stance on the situation?"
[HALE] "The current monarch is extended the quality of being allowed to retain the noble house and a position as Marquis of the country, but he has an unenviable position of 'not wishing to seat the Muscecian throne and proclaim a reborn kingdom', but also 'being at the ready to should his people summon him to do so'."
[KURT] "I see. This is very troubling, yes... The monarch acts as a figurehead despite being deposed, technically a puppet, to keep the people satiated. But, he could very well be the spark that sets off a fire if he plays his cards wrong, or gets influenced by the wrong figures."
[HALE] "A revolt will be quashed by the Heer mercilessly. Tens of thousands could die. But, perhaps we may be underestimating the Woldorian martial law. The Heer have a Regiment in the region. With any luck, the Woldorians might be able to talk down the nationalists on their own. Or, they might fail. We really can't predict it. If only we had Eskart here right now...."
