Though unfamiliar murmuring, low but strong brings some confusion with it. Your augmented hearing adjusting to listen clearly the closer you get, only to be interrupted by a warning signal from your servo-skull just short of stumbling into the repurposed living quarters yourself.
<span class="mu-g"><span class="mu-s">"Got'cha now mek-humie, see ya' run away wit' no legs..."</span></span>
You stifle a scream at the sight, though in your panic a box is dropped when you stumble back. Were it not for the crude mechanical cacophony from the monstrous xenos, you're sure you would have been heard. And then for sure, to share in the horrifying fate of your mentor... what remains of him in the clutches of the enemy, with bloody metal pieces scattered about the shrine like some foul mockery of the Machine God. Clearly there had been a fight and some fight it was; you heard as much and now see as much from the destruction wrought upon the vessel's interior and writ across the body of the alien beast, near as much as your mentor. Were it any of the wretched xenos encountered in the solar days prior, or any number of them even, you're certain Master Voss would have slaughtered the lot of them.
This one though, perhaps twice the size of the other greenskinned brutes. How it even fit through the doors to these quarters... a rough-torn hole in the wall of similar size, rendered so by the patchwork of crude machinery wielded and worn by the beast. An even more heinous affront to the Machine God, perverting the divine design. Are there more like this creature amidst their ranks? And where are the others, the common bunch that have run amok on this vessel since the breaching attack from their own ship? Your mind desperately grasps for logical paths in the face of despair for your mentor, and fear for yourself.
A Mechanicus adept's attempt to cope with the situation at hand, so that once the Omnissiah's will is seen true, you will can act according.
>Whether you can save your mentor now... you can at least avenge him! Or, you can certainly try...
>Master Voss isn't finished yet... he can't be! He just needs some help... distract the beast to give him a chance, albeit at your peril.
>When faced with such an alien horror as this... what can you do but escape? Your mentor wouldn't want that you fall with him.
>[Write-in.] The will of the Omnissiah is...
