I am FINALLY back from vacation, so now I don't have to phone post as much and can begin writing out ideas better.
Also, I will say it feels amusing when it is me who proposed the trade agreement that was such an insult. But if anything it actually would likely fit our character. Since for his first trade agreement, he'd probably be a dumbass as well.
My major thought while writing out the contract, was that I didn't want to give House Salb the thought they could dictate what our state should and would do. So while I didn't add probably anywhere near the concessions that our merchant "buddy" would've wanted, I didn't want us to look like boot lickers either. Probably a good idea in retrospect to not allow then to gain a foothold in our system while we ourselves are in our weak position.
I guess my biggest problem was the fact that I didn't realize how little leverage we have in terms of military might to justify House Salb trusting the potential value of the deal :/
Anyways. Here is my proposal for this vote.
Settlement action:
>Set up some enlarged habitat blocks and expand the road network for a future residential district (Cost: unknown standard units - common materials)
As pictured, my idea is to expand the current population's living area and thus the living standards with it. Most of these will still be built as family residences, but sturdier and more luxurious than the swiftly set up habitats our colonists still live in.
A good way to promote child rearing is to have the extra space and comfort for it after all.
Afterwards, we can then remove the older habitats and set up a fusion reactor. Since the habitats now would be in a much more stable and permanent location.
