>>5869196>“I want as many as I can have.” You say, wrapping Ashe in your arms. “A whole litter of them to run around and frolic. Admittedly, I don’t know much about motherhood. But how hard could it be? If I could reel in a group of violent, deadly sellswords, while drunk at that, I’m sure I can manage a few tiny Uberts running around.”“Are you sure you won’t regret that many?” Ashe chuckles. “Don’t forget that we’ll have to pick up my siblings too. You’ll be surrounded by a horde of Uberts. Not to mention, we’ll have to find a place big enough to sit all of us.”
>“I look forward to it.” You say, running your hand through Ashe’s hair. “It’s the one thing I’m looking forward to most of all. It’s why we need to conclude our business as fast as possible. I don’t want our children growing up in a world full of Demonic Beasts and snakes. It’s our duty to clear the path for them as much as we can.”You wake up bright and early the next morning. Shaking the rust out of your eyes, you dress in your armor and put together a small squad to accompany you to the Imperial Palace, where Seteth and the rest of the Knights of Seiros’ leadership have taken residence. Though the Imperial Army has been defeated, the city is in utter ruin, and you feel it prudent to be on edge while walking through the dilapidated streets. Adrestian citizens scurry out of your way, afraid that a wrong glance in your direction will invite cruelty from their invaders. You do your best to move as quickly as possible for their sake. While the Knights of Seiros were seemingly being as gentle as they possibly could with the locals, they were still an occupying force, and would undoubtedly be treated as such. Reaching the gates of the palace, you hardly even need to introduce yourself before you’re let in.
“Hail, Blackwings!” A young knight shouts, raising his fist in the air. He initiates a chorus of cheers and clapping from the nearby church soldiers, who shower you in praise.
>“What’s all this about?”“No need to play coy.” Corrine chides you, basking in the adoration. “I told you we performed admirably during the siege. It’s only natural that our efforts would not go unnoticed.”
“She’s right, Blair.” Leopold says, emerging from the crowd. The paladin looks remarkably less surly than usual and embraces you familiarly. “Your battle took place in the sky, for all to see. These men know exactly who it was that routed the Hellwings. Their praise does not come easy. Embrace it while it lasts, for you truly earned it.”
>“Leopold! Thank goodness, I’m so happy to see you.”“What? Did you think I’d die?” Leopold frowns. “Don’t get too ahead of yourself, girl. You may have come a long way, but I’m still your senior!”
