>>5469108“C’mere. I’ll explain.” you tell Izzy, getting her away from the crowd. Noticing some others that are still a bit unsure, you motion for them to listen in, but keep it discrete. And… you do explain. Everything. Quietly, but in full detail. She’s still concerned, but understands a bit better now. A lot of them do. “…And so I figured we had a bit more time than that. Thankfully mom and Jaki were on the scene before he could try anything.”
“I recall Neuros having some kind of… power-heightened state, I guess, so stands to reason he’d use that to escape a bit quicker.” your cousin responds. “Still. Peppa, this… I dunno. I feel like we should have done something.”
https://youtu.be/aWJMVo8ECsM“Should we?” you question.
Izzy stares at you like you’ve grown a second head. “...Huh? Well, yeah?”
“Maybe if we were the only ones around to help? Yes, absolutely. But… look around you, Izzy. We’re not the only ones that can take on challenges like this when they arise.”
She does look around. At your brother, at Pantea, at Videl, at Tapion, Minotia, Hado, Sala, Sachie, Zarid. But then she looks beyond them. There’s your dad, still relaxing and talking with Mark. There’s the Para Para bros, still celebrating with Cheelai. And she starts to understand what you’re getting at. She and everyone else that’ve come to listen in too.
‘Part of me almost feels like this… was a test of sorts, y’ know?’ you add telepathically. Izzy looks back at you, not really reacting to the comment. ‘A test to see if we could stop jumping at every opportunity to try and solve every little crisis that comes our way. To just… let ourselves be kids, you know? We’ve got much more opportunity than even our parents had. I know the desire is still there to jump in and fight off every threat that we spot, I’ve felt it several times already. But I let others handle it, and just coordinated things when necessary. Because I knew they could handle it. I knew I could trust them.’
