I read a very short conceptual rpg with a unique approach to character creation called Qualia. Here is my adapted version of it.
The aim of this rpg is to discover meanings beginning as a disembodied consciousness or ascended avatars who manifest themselves through exploration.
What you do is first assemble a collection of source texts, they can be completely random (you could just click wikipedia random article button etc) but it is better if you establish it from genre literature or say novels, poems, music lyrics or videogame or film wikis you enjoy.
Then you fill out the following character sheet with random intriguing sections from your various different preferred source texts that seem appropriate.
Here is my reformulation of their character sheet, I changed some of their heading names to sound better to me, but the structure is exactly the same.
Also, pic related is an example from their pdf (different heading names etc) I think I can detect either some William Gibson cyberpunk or Neal Stephenson sources in the random text, eg matrix, hexogene etc; not sure where the other text phrases are from.
I think this is an interesting storytelling approach with ready built-in mystery and motivation, it is certainly different compared to 3d6 down the line STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA or 4d6 drop lowest hehe
