When you opened your eyes again, you saw the stone blocks that had once comprised the wall you were supposed to be flattened against were now sliding back and out of your way. Due to this unusual phenomenon, you quickly found yourself sliding through a dimly lit tunnel, the ground moving you as if you were standing on a conveyor belt.
At the end of the tunnel was another solid wall, its blocks shifting in anticipation of your arrival. Not having complete and total confidence in the enchanted mechanism, you braced for impact once more, and was gladly disappointed to see that it had worked as intended.
Rather ungracefully, you were dumped into the room that you’d glimpsed through the window from earlier, almost causing you to stumble right into Gwen.
Somehow, she was even more surprised than you were. It took her a moment to recognize you, most likely because you were wearing a different costume these days, but the overall concept of the suit was generally the same.
“Oh! I was wondering when you’d get here.” she said, sliding a disk-shaped bag back over her shoulder. She must’ve been preparing to hit you with that.
“I was going to say the same to you. I wonder why they made us take different portals.” you thought aloud.
Gwen shrugged. “If I know anything about those two, it's that they love their secrecy and melodrama.”
“It’s probably a requirement for being in charge of an operation like this.”
She smiled, and it instantly reminded you of how pleasant her smile could be.
Now that you were no longer in danger of being smashed against a stone wall, you took a moment to examine your surroundings. The room you were in now was dusty and a bit decrepit. The tattered banners lining the walls and the fraying rugs led you to wonder why anyone would use this as a waiting room. The only parts of this room that were even remotely impressive were the tall bookcases in each corner of the room, the massive round table in the middle, and the comforting fireplace near the wall you'd entered from.
What will you say?
>”It’s good to see you. How’re you holding up at the Helicarrier?”>”Did you get to visit your dad yet? I can’t imagine he’d take the news of your transformation and new job very well.”>”How’s your training been going? Have they sent you out on any missions yet?”>”I don’t know if anyone told you, but I handed the Chameleon over to Hill a few weeks back. He won’t be able to hurt either of us now.”>”Thanks for coming. I feel like I should warn you that you’re about to see and hear something deeply disturbing when we get in there, and I’m gonna need you to promise not to fly off the handle.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
