The one thing you don't know, is the why of everything. This half-breed is just a lower part to play in the whole scheme so he only knows what he's seen or been told. All he knows is that you were brought down as special status in games standing, after some big battle up in the high city with the king. He, who gave you over to the games master to be put into the games, for you to triumph or die. Or so the rumors say.
So then you suppose, that's one way of getting rid of you. Not like the sea folk could just drag you out of town and leave you to the open ocean never to return. No, it seems the king is finished with you personally but wants to make sure you're accounted for. And by the sound of things from up above it seems you are well accounted for... the sounds of a huge crowd echoing on the waters down to the holding cells, all gathering for rumors about you and your battle with the king. Sea folk want to see more, after what everyone in Atlanis has heard and is talking about.
With the cavern path upwards and into the arena however, you recognize the promise of freedom... at the same time though, the threat of combat. Though how significant combat, when the place is too shoddy to even imprison you.
>Just try and escape. As you remember the old coliseum was open to the sky above, so now sunken you should be able to just swim up and out, so long as you can make it that far.
>You're willing to fight your way out, let them throw opponents at you until they can impede you no longer. After all, you're terribly hungry and could do with some enemies to consume.
>Surely they have some way in or out that isn't just via the arena itself? Even if you have to wait, probably for the place to empty you will, it's not like they can force you to fight after all.
