The Idealist option is a little too passive. The power of prayer is fine and dandy, but is better served for a different,seemingly unbeatable foe, such as starvation or being naked and chained before a giant.
I would like it if we could add something after our statement, something more quiet and earnest to contrast the other's commanding order. "It's work is not yet done", in reference to the ship. A plea to the Almighty in addition to our declaration in His name feels right.
