The words from your kitsune in-laws were nice to read. They all individually thanked you in advance for the items, expressed concern over the bandit attacks against your estate, and wished to speak in person with you and Ayane so that Aneko's funeral could be scheduled. Kasato even offered to come help "mop up the bandit scum" once she was back to her full strength. Ryko hand-wrote a separate letter in addition to the main ones addressed to you and Ayane; she told of her wish to see "Mr John and auntie Ayane" again. Attached were two small origami foxes, both crafted by Shizuku and Ryko herself, as gifts to you.
There were some other letters in a pile close by. You identified them as responses from Ayane's connections—mostly industrialists, store owners, and well to do merchants—which, in formal words, expressed interest in the business propositions your kitsune wife alluded to, and wished to meet a Savant like you. Though more than one of the letters declined any further conversation, citing the uncertain future of the Mitsubishi-Yasuda Trading Firm, and her family by extension. Well, their loss.
You put those letters aside for later and consider writing a reply to the kitsunes. You're about to ask Ayane for some suggestions, but she seemed to be sleeping peacefully. You decide to join her, napping for hours between the little pieces of fluffy-tailed heaven. You felt your mind become rested as Ayane held onto you, her expression softening and relaxing in turn.
Eventually you get up and, after stretching a little, you think about the letters your kitsune in-laws gave you. But before you can once again consider writing any sort of response or making any plans to visit them, the radio comes to life.
"Oi guv, we got a situation." It was Cattleya with a neutral tone in her voice.
"Where are you? What's going on?" You inquired, hoping this wasn't urgent enough to separate you from your fox wife.
"By the dungeon's entrance near the ocean, and-" There was some static.
"Can you repeat that last part?"
"A few mermaids fancy a talk with you, guv. They say they're from Atlantis."
Considering that this might warrant your personal appearance, you sigh as you begin to get ready.
>Actually, screw that. Have her politely tell them to fuck off. You'd prepare to retaliate if they tried anything.
>Send a clank to talk with them through its radio, the same way you did when you captured your four slaves from Riverdale.
>Greet them personally. Along with your Cat, your Warrior, your Holy Knight, and some clankers as guards. Just to be sure they wouldn't pull anything.
>Same as above, but also bring someone else with you. (Who?)
>Wake Ayane up, get her presentable, and have her come with you. Even after a few drinks and any potential hangovers, she'd still easily be the most diplomatic of all your wives.
>Use the BoatMech to greet them. Some show of strength against them would do you good. (Bring someone else with you?)
