the pods would essentially just be a few atmospheric tanks, some crates of food and alot of seats for people to sit in until they get picked up by the city dwellers.
the design working by having the crew compartment be protected by a diamond tipped end which will make them more easily pass throgh the water on impact, with the bulkhead flaps working as to lessen speed until near inpact, which will have their supports be blown off strategically so that they break off near the top of the diamon tip.
