>>5546157Your name is Wyald Honta, although most people just call you Honta. You're currently ten years old, although most people mistake you for being at least sixteen or seventeen; you grew up faster than all the human children you played with, but slower than your cousins did for some reason. Your Father explained it away as a simple matter of "getting tired of not being able to reach the top shelf", and while you definitely think there's more to it than that, you never really questioned why your Father was a Beastman and your Mother was a Human, nor thought deeply on the implications of it. To you, they're simply mom and dad.
Your home is in a simple village nestled in the plains between three great forests, which your father has familiarized you with whenever he takes you along on your routine hunting trips - these trips were always special to you, moments where you felt like you were truly in your element as you prepared to take down wild beasts with him. However, over the past year, even these hunting trips have started to feel a little dull to you. The game is always the same, easy to predict and even easier to take down with your modern weapons. Which us what leads us to today...
You left a note on your bed for your parents to read that morning, informing them that you're going to be taking a trip on your own to see more of what the world has to offer. You still feel a little guilty, knowing that Mom would definitely worry about you, but you're sure that Dad would completely understand. He has the same kind of instincts you do, after all.
You look out at the forest ahead of you as you move deeper and deeper towards the heart of it, going much further in than you ever have before. The sun's rays only barely peek out from the canopy above you, providing the slightest illumination of the forest floor, and the sounds of animals and insects ring out all around to show just how vibrant the life is this far in.
It's been a few hours since you first set out to leave home, and though you intentionally left without any provisions at all to appeal to the whims of your blood, you're starting to get fairly hungry. Your sensitive nose catches the scent of a fire, and you're sure that if you follow it, you'd find someone who may be able to help with a meal. Then again, you're a hunter damn it, and you're sure you can claim some of the juiciest meat if you just follow the sounds of animals or look for the right trails. You doubt that anything in this forest could pose a serious threat to you, but you could always be wrong...is it better to err on the safe side, or appeal to your instincts?
>Follow the smoke. You're at least a little curious to meet someone else willing to brave the depths of one of the great forests.>Hunt something yourself. You don't need any help!>Write-in?
