I'm more worried mobilizing hundreds of marines onboard the ships will be difficult to hide. They'll just be normal soldiers for now, but I wonder how much will it cost to later create a dedicated Marine Corps specialized in boarding enemy vessels and attacking coastal targets. I imagine a medieval marine will have quick release armor in case he falls into the water, narrow tower shields and short swords for CQB, and a fuckton more training than your average grunt.
