“Eugh-” Is your intelligent reply as you groggily look around an unfamiliar room. It’s mostly unfurnished except for a large wooden table in the center with a large map of the city, noble estates seemed to have been highlighted with a variety of colors on it.
Marie’s eyes light up as you awaken before she launches out of her seat and tackles you in a hug. As your eyes continue to adjust and the fuzz in your head dissipates you see Alyssa standing at attention over Marie’s shoulders, “You collapses while I went to fetch Marie however the Priestess’ could not find anything physically or metaphysically wrong. Are you well?”
You slowly nod your head at her while bringing your hands up to awkwardly pat Marie’s back, “Yes, I’m- I’m fine. I must’ve just been tired,” Near your chest the photo you keep there emits a continued warmth. “Where are we?”
“Our war room,” Alyssa states as Marie slowly brings herself off you and returns to her seat.
Then Marie immediately brights up as her gaze briefly turns to the map, “Wait before that I heard you were promoted! Congratulation!”
For some reason your eyes dart away and theres a feeling of heat in your face at the well-deserved compliment, “Thank you,” Then you quickly change the subject, “I suppose this was put here to help us organize? Show us the estate that were attacked and which one weren’t?”
Alyssa nods once more, “You are correct, as expected, commander. You are to lead us in investigating five noble houses, the start of which is at your discretion.” Good, seeing as some of these estates are far apart. The Atle and Gray manors are near the inner city close to the palace, seeing as they are upper-middle ranking nobility near many other manors, while the Bloodgraves have a compound outside the city walls, and the foreign quarter holds the Brandt and Herrman estates.
“Where do you think we should start first?” Marie asks.
