Hawkodesh cuts the communication link, leaving you to wonder about Gondar's secret. It must be horrible, given the birdy's reaction...
The angel mentioned that the smith wishes death upon his own child. Why anyone would want such a thing is beyond you, except maybe as an offering to a Devil, but sacrificing one's offspring is unthinkable to Bloodseekers and all other gnoll tribes you are aware of. Only a demon-worshipping kobold would be cold-blooded enough to perform such a lowly act, as those don't know what loyalty to one's family is...
You doubt that Anu and the dwarves would approve of sacrificing people in general, let alone a member of their clan. You also doubt that wanting your own kid to die is a common occurrence among dwarven parents, no matter how much of a little shit the brat may be. All in all, it sounds like a feeling you'd want to keep well hidden from everyone.
The smith described the demon as having the appearance of a young girl, and that you should attack it on sight without paying an ounce of atteniton to anything it says. It all makes a surprising - but unnerving - amount of sense. Could it be that the fiend is actually...
“Hyenus?” Your pondering is interrupted by Daitza’s worried voice. “What’s going on? What's the deal with your angel?"
“Wingman went on a big tirade against Gondar and called him an hypocrite and a bunch of other stuff. That dwarf is hiding information from us, Datz. You were right to doubt his intentions!”
“GRRR! I knew it!” she says, palming her fist with a frown. “So what's all this about? Does the demon exist or it’s a made up tale? Is there a trap waiting for us in the mines?”
“Hawky knows what’s going on, but he won’t open up about it until we talk to the forest spirit..." You put a hand on her shoulder. “So let’s go with her, Datz. The sooner we get this over with, the sooner we are getting all the answers we need.”
“We better do” she says with a firm nod. “So many mysteries, Hyeny... I'm so tired of them."
For a second there, you considered sharing your theory with Datz, but Hawkodesh is right. Getting to Luna should be your main concern - that's all that matters right now. Besides, Daitza is really fond of kids and dreams of having one, so learning that the smith has sent the two of you to kill his daughter would ruin her mood... and also boil her blood with rage to *dangerous* levels. You will tell her, of course, but at a more appropiate time - when you're deeper into the tunnels and not right at the entrance.
