Lucian did not land on his feet, but through his sheer force of will kept his senses as he tumbled the ten yards the monster threw him. His senses still with him Lucian was able to bring his scythe up and finish the roll on his feet.
As he looked towards the creature there was hatred going across its many many eyes. Each of them a red glare of hateful hell that promised Lucian that he would join them all in the hell on earth that their Skaven Masters willingly brought onto this plane of existence. The many heads willed the monster to literally throw itself upright towards Lucian with another flop that caused the earth to shutter at the sheer weight of the monster.
This time though Lucian was weary of the sheer mass the monster had. That he was able to keep his footing and dig his scythe into the limb that was coming down against him. Lucian gave another gouge, this time six inches deep that ran from wrist to a major vein that would be lethal to any other mortal.
Yet it was not mortal, instead of reeling in pain it reared its other set of fists and flung them towards Lucian like a demented child against their parent. The impact from a monster of this scale was enough to send the Knight off his feet and across the ground like some pest finally hit with a broom.
Lucian felt that. He felt the pain shoot through his armor and against his very bones. Nothing was broken but memories came back of not the Ork Warboss but the Black Knight who Lcuian had dueled with so long ago.
This creature could kill him. If he stopped fighting and allowed it to land enough hits he would shatter into the tendons just like any other man. It was a primal reminder of mortality that Lucian had been ignoring ever since he swore himself to the God of Death so long ago. His body knew that it was at risk and begging him to run lest it died. He ignored it.
Though his body was shaken Lucian was not truly injured from the attack. No wounds were dug into his flesh or bones shattered from the impact of the monster. The Abomination was trying to rectify this as it reared upon its hind legs and became as tall as a giant from tales of yore. And then it fell as an Avalanche as Flesh upon the lone Knight who faced such an epic monster down.
He was quick now, death being shown above his head, he rolled across the ground and onto his feet just like before. Instinct taking him Lucian had thrown his scythe to the edge of the falling monster and had the monster fall upon his reaper’s scythe.
