Before he could get any closer, you raised both hands and fired your Hidden Guns, unleashing a pair of twin Garlic Pepper Pellets aimed right at his open mouth. His eyes went wide as he tried to cover his face or change direction. Ironically, closing his mouth never occurred to him.
Unable to stop his momentum, your target and your projectiles flew right into each other, and Baron Blood immediately flew into a violent coughing fit. It sounded like he was quite literally hacking up a lung. Smoke began to pour from his mouth, and black ichor spilled onto the ground beneath his feet as his eyes watered.
In his distress, he failed to notice Ana creeping up behind him. A silver blade erupted from his chest as she jammed her weapon through his back, and the Baron screeched so loudly that you thought your ears would bleed.
He raised his arms, but before he could do anything else, you aimed both pistols at his head and began emptying your clip. Your silver bullets didn’t penetrate his skin, so much as they pulverized his flesh with each impact. Once your guns were dry, you could see that half his face had been blown away, exposing bone and raw tendons underneath. Ana held him in place the entire time, twisting her spear to deepen the wound in his abdomen.
His lidless, bloodshot eye stared at you with unfiltered hatred, but you didn’t hesitate to fire an additional Garlic Pepper Pellet into his eye socket. It stuck with an audible “squish”, and you immediately followed up by firing a silver bullet from your other Hidden Gun.
The projectile shattered the pellet, pierced his skull and came back out the other side as the burning fumes from your pellet boiled his brain. He twitched violently after that, followed by a fit of unintelligible gurgling as his brains oozed out of the orifices on his face like soup. But a few seconds later, he stopped moving entirely.
As Anastasia pried it off of her weapon, you had already reloaded your guns and placed them back into their holsters. “Well, that wasn’t so bad.” you casually remarked, trying to force your heart to slow down.
Ana’s gaze shifted to you then, and her eyes flashed with an emotion that you didn't quite recognize. There was something primal in that look she gave you.
“What? Have I got something on my face? Is it vampire guts?”
She dropped her weapon and approached you intently. When she got close enough, she removed her gloves and reached for your face. You took a step back, instinctually, wondering why your Spider-Sense hadn’t gone off. She was obviously going to throttle you!
“Look. If this is about me splattering his brains all over you, you have to admit, you were absolutely drenched in blood before we came down here.” you said quickly, almost tripping over a severed arm.
But before you could say anything more, she rolled your mask up, and tenderly touched your face with her calloused hands. And then, she leaned in to kiss you.
