Tried to look for some events and war fronts that were relatively closish to this timeframe we are in.
It's entirely up to QM if he wants to allow this to happen or if it's even an option, but given the campaign directly involves the Imperial Fists, imagine if we had the chance to change things up? Maybe we won't prevent the destruction of the Warp Gates of Araneus (which would have been a huge boon to the Imperium), but perhaps if we took the Tech planet intact rather than a smoking wreck. . .and its hoard of STCs
TalOS could convince Dorn that the usefulness of such a system of gates would be paramount to Terra's defense, and thus get him directly involved. In any even, I think this could be fun.
We claim to be the true legitimate heirs of the Federation. How well would that hold, when we are going to face some of the creme of the Federations actual tech remnants?
Plus, maybe QM could come up wtih some neat ideas on what that massive threat spilling from the Warp Gates ended up being?
