Though they were initially simple insects, introduced by accident after an extradimensional expedition, the sheer amount of Eldritch knowledge has changed them. From eating the ancient tomes and consuming the runes within, they’ve integrated a great potential for learning within their bodies. The Silverfish assimilate whatever they eat, gaining their properties and using it to strengthen the swarm. Now, the insect collective is intelligent and ravenous. They seek to consume as much of the library as they can, to gain its knowledge and add it to the hive, so that they may become a living record of the universe’s knowledge.
