The sun is well past its zenith when you reach the walls of the town, Jess makes a beeline for the open gate manned by several guards. They are adorned in a similar manner to the Langlish freeblades you have encountered in the past, though arguably poorer in equipment and less lavish in their colours. The three guards seem bored, this appears to be a gate of lessor importance with little traffic. Still, one of them perks up at your approach even as he ignores your Fae archer. He swaggers into your path, cheap halberd resting on his shoulder.

You don’t catch the gist of what any of the guards are saying. But you do understand the milky-eyed halberdier in front of you is blocking the way.
