>>5868332The drunken arguing once again breaks out in earnest, which mercenaries left and right seeking to cast their vote and make their voice heard as to who they thought was your toughest soldier.
“Well, I think I’m Blair’s top guy!” Diana shouts from atop another table, trying to draw attention to herself.
“You can’t be Blair’s top guy!” A red-faced Caleb shouts back at her.
“Why not?!”
“Y-you just can’t!”
“Wow, your friends sure like you a lot.” Bernadetta says. She fidgets nervously at the prospect of the party turning violent.
“I know! Ask Lady Ava!” One mercenary shouts loud enough for everyone around him to hear. All eyes turn towards Ava, who’s been sitting off to the side of the party, minding her own business. A few empty cups lie in front of her, but she appears to be fine, and even enjoying the party in her own sullen way. Unused to so much attention on her, it takes a while for Ava to notice that all eyes have fallen on her. Looking up from her cups, she offers her own input.
“Isn’t it obvious?” She asks. Her question is met with further silence, forcing her to elaborate further on what she meant. “It’s me.”
Unsatisfied with her answer, the party once again breaks out into fevered debate, as everyone tries to determine once and for all who your top guy was.
“I know I just got here and everything, but I’m pretty tough!” A red-faced Rocks shouts, towering over everyone there. His voice booms throughout the party. “Tougher than anyone! And if someone here doesn’t think so, then get over here and let’s start wrestling!”
>“Ah! No! That’s enough! No fighting!” Upon remembering that you lead a pack of highly trained and deadly sellswords rather than schoolchildren, you decide it best that you intervene and put an end to this debacle once and for all.“Tell us, Blair!”
“Yeah! Who do you think’s the toughest, Blair!
“Let Blair decide!”
>“I-I can’t decide something so preposterous!” You declare. “You’re all valued members of the Blackwings!”“That’s right, shame on you all!” Corrine shouts, suddenly appearing beside you. “You all know Blair’s just going to say it’s me anyway. Why are you making such a big deal out of this?”
Adding fuel to the fire, Corrine manages to make things worse, igniting the argument all over again.
“M-maybe you should just say someone…” Ashe whispers helpfully to you.
