"Sir, if I may suggest a course of action. I think we should start with a fully defensive posture rather then attempting an immediate breakout. We would be horrifically overstretched if we tried. Instead, taking advantage of the competitive nature of the two enemy battalions facing us, we should let them bleed trying to force our defensive positions, then collapse our Eastern and Central defenses inwards, pivoting towards the west where I believe our best option for a breakout lays. Once the battle has raged on both sides will be... lesser. If we can time it right we will consolidate our force and then have enough combat power to punch through a weakened enemy on a narrow axis of advance, where we can best support it with artillery smoke and hopefully avoid most of the enemies remaining strength.
As to the details of our defenses, I suggest forward strongpoints held by infantry platoons to provide depth and cover for our mechanised assets. These should be mutually supporting and provide opportunities to create fire sacs to trap the enemy advance in. Every strongpoint should have a fallback position before the final fallback position where we reorganize for our breakout. Id also suggest leaving a company or so of Cuirassiers in the center to provide a QRF and local counterattacking force, although we should take care not to place them in too obvious positions.
As a final note I'd remind people to keep themselves and their men in protective gear. We don't want to get caught out there.
