The truth is, I didn't know where the start in finding Shennu. The Dragon I sought.
The deity that ruled water was a rare sighting, and had been said to appear in the Grand Strait I now sailed in at times. Being a divine beast like I, they say Shennu had exhibited the behavior of a guardian. Sailors had stories of both pleasant and terrifying encounters with the quote on quote, "Sea Dragon". Stories of how their lives had been saved by a dragon in the waters out at sea, and brought back to land safely. And other tales of how a great serpent had attacked their ships in a rage and sunk them, but still allowed them to live even so.
[MAJORDOMO] "So..." My subconscious began as I saw him flutter into my sight, ethereally; "...uhhh... how are you gonna find em?"
'...I'm not sure. A god that does not mind being found will be seen on the road. A god who does spend time in the social light has to be sniffed out. A god actively straying from sight will hardly be found unless they want to be...'
'It was my believe that by sailing the waters, we'd eventually come across some sign. Any at all. Or sighting. But I can't just stay out here for days looking, or even waiting for the next marine disaster to see them, even if it wouldn't hurt me to. I suppose one way would be to call Shennu somehow.'
[MAJORDOMO] "Eh... I'm pretty sure Qilins go something like, FHRREEEEEOOOOHPPP. Not, RAAAAARGGHGHRRR!!! Like Dragons do."
'Either that, or I cause something with the oceans to get its attention.'
[MAJORDOMO] "Munny, you might make them mad. You really wanna risk getting into a fight?"
'If I have no choice...'
[MAJORDOMO] "Hmmm...! Well, I wouldn't mind seeing that. A Qilin versus a Dragon, now that'd be a showdown. I could help you make such a disturbance. Just gotta tell me."
'Hmm...'
'There might be other ways.'
I detected the marine life of the sea. It was like a bedlam of life. The sea had so many species... and so many unknowns even to us now in the modern day. The only place on Hainei that had not been charted.
