Yet where he was not the Dwarfs found themselves losing. A group of the engineers were slammed into the wall as one of the cannons were yanked from their grip and thrown over the wall into the mass of undead below. Another, a Dwarf too stubborn for his own good, found himself carried through the window thus joining the cannon in the depths of damnation.
It was right after that Lucian watched as one of the holes who cannon was lost had the creature sticking its head through. It opened its mouth to show a wide array of teeth which were terrifying to Lucian’s mortal soul. The Black Knight charged the creature before even thinking about it as the hand of Morr guided him to slaying the monster. His scythe slicing the head off before the monster could bite anyone.
It was then the Champion of Morr saw from the other end of their chamber as another of those creatures had gotten their head through the shoot. He wiggled for a moment, then as if his body was liquid shoved the rest of his decaying flesh through the portal.
It was then that a primordial cry was let out from outside. The Knight turned to see through one of the portals as three creatures many times larger than even the Kroxigor running through the crowd of undead. Their faces almost like the monsters who Lucian fought right now but clearly had much more necromancer handiwork placed in them.
The tactic was clear to Lucian. Disable the guns, allow those creatures to the gate. Possibly, just possibly, those three mighty monsters could break down the two gates to allow the undead into the keep. Perhaps, if this flank was lost, then all would be lost already as they can get into the heart of the keep quickly in a charge that would make a duke blush.
