>>5949511>“One cannot do everything by themselves. You must learn to place faith in trustworthy comrades who can ease your burden.” It was true. Every single one of the Blackwings had their role to play. From Corrine helping you manage the company, to Milly’s distribution of pay and Sebastian’s habit of keeping the troops drilled and ready, you needed the help of each of your comrades. You saw no shame in admitting this. It took delegating responsibilities to run a mercenary company, and you imagined running a country was no different. “I see...” Byleth ponders your answer. “And I take it Ashe and Corrine will be following you back to Rusalka?”
“Absolutely. She’s my sister. I can’t leave her alone now that she’s got a full plate in front of her.” Corrine says.
“I’ll follow Blair anywhere.” Ashe says resolutely. “I’ll be heading to Arianrhod first to pick up my siblings. I haven’t seen them since before leaving for Ailell. Afterwards, we’ll all come back to Rusalka. And we’ll start a new life together. As one family.”
“You picked a good answer, Blair.” Byleth smiles. “With these two by your side, I’m sure your rule will be a fruitful one. I endeavor to do the same. With Seteth and Flayn’s assistance, I hope to be able to pull Fodlan out of this wreck. I may not be able to live up to Rhea’s legacy, but I will do everything I can to ensure this is a brand-new age for all of us. Free from the shackles of the past. I hope that we may meet again one day, you three.”
The three of you bid farewell to Byleth, who assures you that someone will be over with your promised gold. Likewise, you inform her that you’ll be transferring over the Heroes Relics and Sacred Weapons you acquired from Zanado. Grateful that they were not lost, the Professor promises you that she will ensure they are returned to their respective houses and kept in safekeeping. On your way out of the audience chamber, you run into three familiar faces who were just about to step inside.
“Blair! Corrine! Ashe! There you are!” Dorothea exclaims excitedly. With her are both Bernadetta and Ferdinand. You’re relieved you’re afforded an opportunity to see the three of them again, and exchange warm embraces all around.
“I see that your mission was a resounding success.” Ferdinand exclaims cheerfully. “With our combined efforts, we’ve systematically rooted out every foul creature that dared to spread their corruption throughout the Empire. It can’t undo what’s already been done, but at least now I hope that our dearly departed friends may rest easy.”
“Poor Edie…” Dorothea says mournfully. “It’s no excuse for what she did, but I can’t imagine what it must have been like having to suffer at those things hands.”
“What are the three of you going to do now?” Bernadetta asks.
