>>5264237You watch Kazeko stand and head outside without a word, like she normally does. You haven’t had a chance to ask her what happened with her two Captains, so you shrug, before following her out, Tsukuya and Shin looking at each other in slight confusion.
By the time you’re there, Kazeko has already drawn both her swords, holding them steady before she starts a kata. Her katana is held firmly in her right hand in a standard grip, while the tanto is a loose reverse grip in her left. She sighs, before swiftly going into a routine, her twin blades flashing in the air as she goes through a graceful dance.
You realise that even though you’re faster than she is, you can barely even follow her moves, despite the fact you get the distinct impression she’s not even trying that hard. You knew she was better than you with weaponry, but you hadn’t imagined the gap in skill would be this large.
“Sunder all that lies before you, allow the flowers bloom in their blood,” You hear her whisper, as she begins to move faster and faster. “All the world is your stage, with slicing winds that shatter the future. In one stride, claim it all for yourself! Yo o Ya Futago Harukaze!”
In a flash of light, you see Kazeko’s weapons shift and change before your eyes, as her reiatsu also skyrockets. Her katana becomes a strange looking, crystalline sword that has two edges, as opposed to the single edged blades you’re used to, with a long, rectangular guard that was much too big to be called a tsuba.
The tanto had become an even stranger weapon, that you could only describe as a tonfa-sword, the weapon having two handles that were perpendicular to each other before ending in another long, double-edged blade. She held it in a reverse grip still, holding the handle perpendicular to the blade, so that the actual edged part of the weapon ran up her arm.
“Before you ask,” Kazeko says, smiling as she turns to you, “yes. This is what I spent yesterday with the Captains doing. Kyoraku-taicho said I would only know to imprint on to two asauchi if I knew I had two zanpakuto spirits, and therefore I couldn’t be far away from shikai. He was right, it seems.”
