>>6311916You walk over to where Shea had landed. She was still alive, but there was no way she’d be getting up and moving any time soon. She looks up at you with a look of shock and horror painted on her face, raising one hand up as if to try and keep you away.
“M-monster!” She cries out. “H-how did you make that shot…?”
You were about to brag about how it took you less shots fired to beat her. Perhaps something about how you were the better archer after all. But when you open your mouth to do so, blood pours out from the arrow wound she’d given you. The sight evidently makes for a terrifying one, as Shea’s face turns white, and she begins to trash and scream, hoping to get away from you.
“N-no! Don’t kill me! Take my badge! I have the other one as well from that man! I-in my pocket!”
You rub your jaw. You’d have to get a Concoction on this before you met with the others. You wouldn’t be able to communicate with them until you did. As for Shea, the other badge she mentioned must have been Conrad’s. How fortunate. You thought you might have to dig it out of the stomach of that monster, but it looks like he must have dropped it upon his death. That would be convenient.
As you mull over what to do with this woman, Kosmas’s voice once again echoes through the forest.
“Contestant Number 23, Crowley, has defeated Contest Number 9, Rainer, on Floor 9. Contestant Number 41, Uriyan, has defeated Contestant Number 22, Rudolf, on Floor 8. Contestant Number 25, Nathaniel has defeated both Contestants Number 11, Herman, and Number 21, Carl.”
