>>5749310Nalitaty almost dashes up to your mom with an excited look on her face. “You’ve GOT to tell me how that works! How are you able to contain all its mass within that container? Is it a form of mass-shifting? Dimensional compression? Is the individual inside the container still aware? How do you prevent escape? Oh oh oh, is it similar in concept to a Whiteout Vacuum? Can the process be replicated in through artificial means? Oh what about-?!”
“Woah, woah, woah, one at a time please!” Maple pleads with a smile, holding her hands up. “I appreciate the enthusiasm though.”
Placing the container down, Rabaht adds, “Yes, let’s not overwhelm her.”
“Actually, before we get into that, we’ve got a more pressing concern.” you speak up. “What exactly did you guys uncover with the ‘Project Mugenbine’ and ‘Project Ashura-X’ files you managed to copy over?”
Nalitaty backs up a bit, apologetically smiling and rubbing the side of her head. “Right, right, sorry! Okay…” Her visor flips down again, and she explains, “According to recovered data… Project Mugenbine is the label given to an attempt to create ‘omnicombinational’ soldiers for Viga using data acquired from the Metal Beasts. Soldiers able to combine and combine and combine again effectively indefinitely, using Destron to… in essence present ‘templates’ for them to follow and also keep them in line.”
“Brings to mind what we were up against just now…” you note. “A bunch of Metal Beasts kinda being ordered around by this massive one, that was probably made up of a bunch of smaller ones. It… also almost looked like it was growing out of the ruins itself.”
“Might explain why she got so upset when you started winning against them.” Irico says with a smile. “Mad scientist types tend to lose their cool when plans go awry. Very typical villain behavior.”
You laugh a little. “Hah, true. Still, there were even three that had the initial form of these aircraft before turning into this kind of... spindly mech with a giant drill arm.”
“That matches some of the files in Project Mugenbine. It’ll take a bit to get through all of them, but we’ll move on to the next one: Project Ashura-X.” She crosses her arms and a frown forms on her face. “…This doesn’t look good.”
