>>5352390>You let out a small yelp as you whip around and find yourself face-to-face with the man himself. “Damnit! You know I hate when you do that!”Boleslav smirks. “Sorry, Commander. I can’t help myself when I’m in hunt mode.”
At first glance, one would hardly think the man in front of you was made of the material necessary to be a scout. Boleslav was a large man. Not just tall, but heavy-set as well. And yet, he moved in a way that seemed to defy all logic and expectation. His footsteps made no sound when he walked, and his accuracy with a bow was on par with Caleb’s. An avid hunter, he’d joined your company right before the battle with the Almyrans. You’d thought him an odd fellow when he claimed his reason for joining was that “he’d never hunted Almyran Wyverns before”. Nevertheless, no one in your company took down more of the enemy that day than Boleslav. From his perch on the ground, he shot Almyran after Almyran without tiring. He’d apparently had a lot of fun that day and chose to stick around for the opportunity to hunt greater game.
“We grabbed ourselves this huge wild boar while we were out, Commander. Can’t wait to gut this fella. Tonight’s dinner is on me.”
>“Dinner will have to wait. I need you and Caleb to move out with me tonight. We’re moving in on our target.”“Ahh…our humble merchant is finally about to arrive, is he?” Caleb says. “I can’t wait to see what he’s peddling.”
Boleslav frowns. “A merchant caravan. Sounds boring. Do you really need both of us for this?”
>“I assure you this is no ordinary merchant. I expect that this Echeverria will have a few surprises in store for us. He’s been a huge thorn in the Alliance’s side for a while now. And I don’t believe you make it on Claude’s hit list without being capable of causing great trouble.”Boleslav doesn’t seem convinced but doesn’t push the subject any further. “If you say so, Commander. They’re as good as dead. Shame though.” He looks back towards the hunters that had just arrived. A few of them were in the middle of struggling to carry the massive hog into the village. Boleslav places a hand on his stomach, and you could swear you hear a rumble. “That’s good meat…”
>“I’ll make it up to you. Grab a few of your best archers and get ready to leave by tonight.”“You got it, boss.” Caleb says. He wraps an arm around his much larger scouting comrade. “C’mon, big guy. We gotta get ready.”
The sun is near setting. You figure you have time to meet with one more pair of your captains before it’s time to move out.
