Now that I'm thinking about it, I think a Mutant Sports League could be great for the Mutant community.
It would allow for actual professional opportunities for mutants, potentially rehabilitate their public image, and bring together the disparate Mutant communities across the United States.
The only problem is what would be the premier sport? I think Basketball is a strong contender, and personally I'd want to stay away from combat sports (so we don't have to deal with the constant "Human Weapon" comparisons plaguing the Mutant community).
Definitely not Soccer, that shit would be impossible to get off the ground in the US. Maybe baseball? That could be a fun watch.
