>>5425899Appearing a few minutes after the Seahorse departed, Zodd and his flying apostle sky force had appeared to clear the remaining Dakas and Makaras still onto Vritannis.
Yet after seeing the destruction of the docks, Ganishka's form already dissipating into nothingness, and the familiar scent of the bear bathing himself onto the saltwater to clean himself off the juice of warfare, Barnham comes face to face with the one who were to claim the credit for Ganishka's demise.
"There you are, alpha sheep of the herd. Just like the emperor of the clouds, the skies are the only form your shadow can find to tower over mine." Barnham starts taunting his nemesis, to which he ignores, for he never was a real threat to his existence.
"Your insolence knows no boundaries."
"What, are you here to take the credit for the victories of Ilos? Has your leader's incompetentes have grown to the point of having to play catchup to a mere human?" Barnham bears his fangs to all the apostles here present, though knowing how poorly his condition was, extending his hand to fight was something that would only result in his death.
After drying himself up, Zodd blocked Barnham's path as he started considering whether Sonia's advice was meant for Guts -who was nowhere to be found- or to Barnham, who was growing exponentially with a lot more promise than the swordsman.
"Where do you think you are going?!"
"Off to devour Ganishka's weapon. This time, there will be no magicians wearing skull armors to impede me."
"You have met the Skeleton Knight?" Zodd ponders if he knows of his true identity, but Barnham shows his naivete.
"Yes, Hopefully I will never come to face that sorry excuse of a role-player ever again."
"Banham. Why do you refuse to take a side, instead forming your own? Perhaps Ganishka could have withstood better chances if you both united yourselves against Lord Griffith. The Falcon already has control over all other Midland Apostles. What has gone over you to convince that you stand a chance?"
Instead of answering for the enemy, Barnham lifted a boulder next to him, exploding thanks to his expelling of force through solid objects. Behind it, showed the young Benny stuttering and crying in fear as his sister laid beside him.
"Take a look into this child's eyes, Zodd. What words would best be appropriate to best shape him into a warrior? Should I apologize for the life I've given him? Should I tell him to man up, and forget his sister, should I offer him a behelit and laugh as he turns into a mangled shell of his former self? In short, I do not know. I cannot know, nor do I pretend care. A debater is good at shutting down arguments, that does not mean that what he preaches is right."
As the flute player starts to cry, the bear finds the full pockets of a nearby corpse and hand him some money to look for a horse ride.
