>>5331914When you wake, you gather your retinue—sans Glowie and the Elf-Specialist, who are to remain here, with the Drow. The Elf-Specialist nevertheless turns up to see you off… But Glowie does not. You are, however, joined by both the Pit Guards AND his Apprentice, whom the Novice clears for duty.
“Though he is suboptimal, he can fight,” she explains. “His death could serve important tactical functions, such as a distraction, or delaying a pursuer.”
You decide it is probably best not to put him on your front line.
A small cadre of drow have joined you, as well, including Jazkarmel herself, who arrives with Oluwadamilare. Both look… Relaxed. After your troubled slumber, you cannot help but envy them a little. You focus on matters of greater import, however.
“Are you joining us on our expedition?” you ask the Drow leader.
She laughs, a pretty sound, and shakes her head.
“No, not coming. Would if could, but elves need me here—protecting home. But bring back your magic things!”
She presents your cloak and your belt.
“The cloak is protective spell—”
The Degenerate whispers something to her.
“Ah, the cloak HAS a protective spell. Serves almost like armour! Very useful, but cannot really replace HEAVY armour, like you have… And does not add much additional protection if already wearing armour. And protects against magic a little, MORE than big metal suit.”
You eye it with interest. Something that offers the protection of light or medium armour without the weight of it… That is still quite interesting.
