It is a slim, single-edged blade with a circular guard and a moderate curve that rests easily in your hand. "What is this?" You wonder aloud.
"Ah, a woman of culture I see. That is a katana, a rare thing brought here by mercenaries all the way from a place known as Kozakura and given a silver treatment. Do you like it?" Ordinarily, you preferred double-edged swords - trying to alternate between using the blunt side to defend and the bladed side to strike could be tricky with the often improvisational movements of Orb Alur - but at your level of mastery, you could turn a kitchen utensil into a weapon fit for military use.
That aside, whether it was the aesthetic or the unique craftsmanship, there was something about it which appealed to you on a superficial level. There are other weapons on display which are more affordable and doubtless equally as lethal. Yet, this 'katana' looked pleasing, and felt good to hold. "I'll take it. What do I need to know about using it?"
The gnome throws his hands up, shaking his head. "Oh no! Don't ask me! I don't know the first thing about fighting, and even less about how the warriors from the far east do it. You'd need to ask someone smarter or more well-traveled than me." Something to keep in mind should you feel the desire to pursue that knowledge, then. The deal is done, and you are now the proud owner of one silver katana.
What's next, lady?
