The mechanics are a pretty standard 1d100 system, target number is generally 70 for what I would consider to be a default difficulty task, made harder or easier based on the ease/difficulty, your skills, and the quality of your plan. You have a pool of a points you can use for modifiers, True Ninja and Will of Fire. True Ninja is earned by being unusually cold and pragmatic, Will of Fire is earned by being unusually warm and idealistic. True Ninja gives a larger modifier and demonstrates aggressive brutality on your part (Which will be returned in kind.), Will of Fire gives a smaller modifier and demonstrates restraint and mercy on your part (Which is also returned in kind.).
Historically you guys have been pretty Will of Fire maxed.
Stylistically I tend to be very verbose. Since my posts can be quite long, I general extrapolate based on the core of what you guys are angling for, rather than carbon-copying the exact letter of the most common vote. I try to incorporate a little of everything. I favor write-ins.
Last time a huge amount of things happened in a quite long thread. We essentially went over every relevant moment in your entire life so far.
You are Otomo Mizutani, a 13 year-old ninja genin living in Konohagakure, something of a budding ninjutsu specialist who is currently assigned to team Nakagawa with your teammates Naoki Fuma and Masami Igarashi. Your first mission was a mixed success: You succeeded on the letter of the mission (Escort Kenji Sato to his grandma's house for a visit.), but ultimately the hand of fate wasn’t tilted in your favor and the mission was doomed to a disappointing end regardless of what you did (She was old, and near death long before you managed to arrive). You also had a spiritual battle with a demon, which evidently is fairly impressive.
You’re having increasing issues with the state of your soul. Some time ago in childhood your soul was nearly sacrificed to resurrect your long-dead sister in your body. Supposedly the whole process was botched and you’ve been left with your soul anchored to a channel to the Pure Land, the ninja afterlife. This causes strange effects that can’t be replicated by other jutsu, but it’s a blessing and a curse. Your chakra naturally devastates demons and gives you great affinity with the affairs of death and the spirits, but your soul also exists in a precarious state of erosion and replenishment that can negatively affect your mind if you’re not careful. It has been explained to you that being near death would be unpredictably problematic or helpful for you, as well as running out of chakra (Which you had to realize the hard way.).
